Cobra Insurance

Cobra Insurance

Alternatives to cobra are easy to find. Go to Individual & Family Health Insurance EasyToInsureMe.com

With cobra insurance you have a maximum amount of time that you are allowed to stay on your company’s health care plan

During this time you are supposed to be looking for other health insurance or a new job that will offer you health benefits.

If this is not the case then you must get health insurance benefits on your own. Take a look at the insurance companies available to you in your area. A wide variety of Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO), Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), and Health Savings Accounts (H.S.A) should be available.

Then you must decide how much risk you can take, this will reflect in the rates. Choose a deductible that will coincide with your budget. When I write group health plans with at least 15 employees I realize that maybe only 2 or 3 employees satisfy the deductible for that year. Therefore, don’t be scared to take a higher deductible, odds are you will not spend as much as you think.

Next decide what copay you would like to pay to see the Doctor. This will also reflect in the health insurance premiums. The higher the copay or coinsurance the less the healthcare premium will be.

Finally take a look at the maximum out of pocket per year. This is the maximum you would pa if God forbid something very bad happened and you had to stat in the hospital for a very long time. Every plan has this it is a safeguard. For example, you got in a car accident and receive $3 million worth of health care services. The maximum you may pay is $2,000 depending on what you health plan benefits are.
